(I love how Grace is ALL around us) Here are some more photos of---Ta-Da---the gracelets, ur, I mean bracelets we made in Rebecca Sower's glass. I believe the name of the class was "Fabric Adornments." Who knew? I did not-AT ALL know what we would be making...really, not a clue. When I signed up, the web site had this tiny picture-of just a piece of the stitching. It was like playing peek-a-boo. (unconfirmed report:they don't want to give out the exact project info to prevent others from stealing the idea?) This is the first time I have ever signed up for classes, not fully knowing what I would be doing, or at least admiring the artist/teacher from their work. I decided to go to Silver Bella because I wanted to visit family that I have in Omaha and also on my way there I could stop and visit my roomate from college. I added Silver Bella into my weekend and am very glad I did. I met people from all over the country and from as far away as Australia. I met a wonderful gal from down under and she works for K and Company as a designer. Sheez! DREAM JOB! (that is a whole other post) The first night I got to Silver Bella I was sitting outside the conference room waiting to go in for the dinner and program. A darling gal, Cherie Wilson, from Ohio came up and introduced herself to me. She introduced me to her three friends and we ate dinner together. Charming group of ladies! What grace they offered to me. We muddled through the evening project which I will post a picture of tomorrow. (a project worth doing)
The bracelet with the circles was made by Andrea, of the famous One Hundred Wishes website. She sat at the table with me in Rebecca Sower's class. I want to give credit to her. She almost finished the project in the time alloted. I did not get that far, but am almost done. I will add another post regarding Andrea and her web store soon. I promise. One more thing-the tiny little boxes that Rebecca used for her "stuff," tiny buttons, beads, charms was so cute. It was simply a cigar box, filled with the tiny boxes.
Ok, so we were making little embroidery designs with two or three stands of floss. Tiny daisy stitches and french knots, and little x's - which are kisses, don't cha know. Little bead toppers on the surface of buttons and outline stitching around buttons.
It was pure grace that I found myself in this class.
